VISION, MISSION and BELIEFS of the CHURCH
Parish Vision
Preparing the way for the love of Jesus Christ to reach all people.
A Year of Mission
On Vision Sunday the Rector designated 2020 to be the Year of Mission
Beliefs
-
We value all people and believe God seeks to show love to all, and that this is supremely shown in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
-
We believe the Bible contains the central teaching of the Christian faith. We seek to engage with these Scriptures to understand the revealed will of God, his expectations and hopes for humanity.
-
As an Anglican Church we uphold the faith of the Church as traditionally expressed in the Creeds, including the Apostles Creed:
-
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father;
from there he will come to judge
the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
